i am thrown into a cage,
without kindness shown on my tender age,
fallen i have,
straight down into a gloomy cave,
fear whispered, it was hell’s rage,
eyes see and know that it was just a trick to trip my courage,
heart heavy, i walk to what looks like a grave,
feet giving away, to coward from brave,
eyes flicker as the curtains veil the stage,
‘humanity’ – reads the grave, are we back to stone-age?
the date seems familiar, portraying lust, rave and selfish crave,
no theories required, that the mathematicians and scientists gave,
i read the date out loud, marking the start of a new age or the end of humanity’s entire age,
‘today’, if we don’t change – is the date.
