April Haiku Month, Day 9: Hunter

WHEN THE HUNTER BECOMES THE HUNTED

a vast dense jungle . . .

lion scouts for the weakest deer

silent paws turn fierce

~ ~ ~

a skilled hunter fool . . .

silences jungle king’s roar

his own dark pride roared

~ ~ ~

not a moment later . . .

king’s pride dawned upon hunter

tat! pride preyed on pride

~ ~ ~

a man is weakestΒ

when he is self-conscious

of his own darned pride

    • Thank you very much πŸ™‚ And I really appreciate you stopping by, reading each of my haiku and letting me know how you felt. It is so encouraging. πŸ™‚ Thank you so much!!

  1. I love the way you write haiku so effortlessly and your language! Poor hunter :((( Ah, survival does not come cheap and easy!! Exquisite set…Kudos!

    • Yes. Sadly, yes. But those who chose to be weak(metaphorically) MUST get the worst. But very often, they don’t. In this story though, I made them get it. Because I always felt for the naturally weak people who, as you said, seem to get the worst. When god doesn’t do right, we must. I did it with a story. Thank you for reading! πŸ™‚
